NICO HOLDS FAMILY DAY

NICO Group successfully held a family day after a two-year break that was caused by the COVIV-19 pandemic.

The event, which started off with aerobics at Chichiri Shopping mall then a fun run to Blantyre Sports club, saw members of staff from across the Group, which includes NBS Bank and Eris Properties, having a day out with their families.

NICO Group Managing Director, Vizenge Kumwenda, said it was important to give staff a chance to relax outside the office.

“We value and push to having what we call a work–life-balance to encourage staff to take the much-needed time off and spend time with their families. This family day gives us a chance to interact as ONE NICO family with colleagues and with our families.”, Kumwenda said.

He further added that it was an opportunity for staff to interact in one space since the partial lockdown  due to  the COVID-19 pandemic.

NICO Holdings Board Chairman, Gaffar Hassam, reiterated Kumwenda’s sentiments adding that such events  help grow the relationships of staff members.

“The people here and people we spend a lot of hours with, be it in the office or at home, making them all our family. Having an opportunity to interact with each other where there is no pressure of a deadline is exactly what is needed after a long week,” Hassam said.

The day was filled with numerous activities which included aerobics, wellness talk, football and netball tournament, volleyball and basketball games, board games such as chess, and more fun games such as sack race, chicken race and egg race for both adults and children.

A One NICO Anthem produced by local artists Phyzix, Hyphen, Nepman and Tuno, was launched as part of the activities of the day.

NICO Group remains committed to creating the best work place for all its staff members.
