NICO GROUP CELEBRATES LABOUR DAY

NICO Group, which includes NBS Bank and ERIS Properties, joined in the celebration of Labour Day with a series of employee engagement activities held across its subsidiaries, recognising the contribution of employees and the value of work within the organisation.

The activities took place across different locations including Michiru House, Chibisa House and Lilongwe City Mall, where employees from across the Group came together to mark the day.

Staff were invited to come to work dressed as a labourer of their choice or a profession that inspires them. The activity saw a creative and colourful display across the Group, with staff dressed as nurses, doctors, chefs, lawyers, engineers, teachers, farmers, and office professionals.

Employees got an opportunity to reflect on the importance of different professions and the role each one plays in society. Senior leadership also took part, with Mr. Gerald Chima, Chief Executive Officer for NICO Pensions, participating  as an engineer.

During the engagement, employees were also asked what NICO Group means to them. Many described the organisation as “home,” while others referred to it as “the best employer” and “a place that gives peace of mind.” Some also appreciated farmers, recognising their important role in providing food for the country.

The Labour Day engagement created a simple but meaningful experience for employees across the Group, strengthening unity, appreciation, and pride in the workplace.
