NICO GROUP CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY WITH SPONSORSHIP TOWARDS ANNUAL BEST GIRLS MERIT AWARDS CHAMPIONED BY ZBS

NICO Group, which includes NBS Bank and ERIS Properties, has sponsored the 2023 ZBS Annual Best Girls Awards with MK5 million.

The annual event aims at recognizing and empowering girls who have performed exceptionally in the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations.

NICO Group Corporate Affairs, Manager Mbumba Mlia-Ndasauka, said the Group believes that supporting such initiatives will encourage girls to excel in their education and achieve their goals.

“As a company, we are committed to supporting initiatives that contribute to improving a girl child’s life. We believe this sponsorship will have a lasting impact on the girls who will be recognized for outstanding achievement in MSCE and will inspire others,” Mlia-Ndasauka said.

She added that the sponsorship has tied in well with the organization’s Women’s month initiatives.

“We have a number of initiatives that we are running during this month to appreciate women. These girls are tomorrow’s leading women, and we would like to appreciate them at this early age to motivate them further and to inspire others,” she added.

Zodiak Broadcasting Station Controller of Commercial Affairs Emmanuel Maliro, thanked the NICO Group for the sponsorship, adding that it reflects their understanding of the pivotal role that women play in the society.

“Our collaboration with NICO Group underscores a shared commitment to advancing women’s empowerment in education, in line with their dedication to initiatives shaping our nation’s future. We encourage other businesses to follow NICO Group’s lead and join us in backing initiatives that uplift and include women in education, fostering a positive impact on our society,” Maliro said.

This year’s event will be held at St Mary’s Secondary School where 9 girls who scored between 9 and 10 points will be recognized and awarded.
