NICO celebrates Golden Jubilee through golf

NICO Group held a golf tournament dubbed ‘The One Executive Golf  Challenge’ at Lilongwe Golf Club on Friday.

The tournament, which attracted 36 prominent golfers in the country, was organized as part of Golden  Jubilee celebration activities.

Vice President Saulos Chilima took part in the tournament and hailed Nico Group for organising the event.

“It was a good feat to celebrate NICO’s 50 years and we had a good golf tournament,” he said.

NICO Group Managing Director Vizenge Kumwenda said, for the past 50 years, the company had registered a lot of

success.

“It was a good platform for us to interact with business executives as we celebrate 50 years. The 50 years have been

a success and we appreciate the support from corporate”, Kumwenda said.

At the end of the tournament, team NICO Asset Managers emerged champions.

The team, which got 115  points, comprised of Louis Sibande, Sakurai Mbande, Chris Mpanga and John Makwenda.

Each of the team members got a K100,000 shopping vouchers and a trophy.

Team NICO Capital team finished second with 114 points. The team of comprised Vera Zulu, Boyd Luwe, Ben Wandawanda and Davie Kalenzi.

Each member of the team received a K75, 000 worth shopping vouchers plus a trophy.

NBS team, comprising Kwanele Ngwenya, Vera Kamtukule, MacMillan Anyanwu and Brian Coombes, came third with 108 points.

Each of the players got K50,000 worth of vouchers.

The company similar event last month. At the end of the two events, team NICO General was the overall winner and its members were awarded an all-expenses-paid trip to South Africa courtesy of NICO Group.
