NICO Supports efforts for national development

NICO Group which includes, NBS Bank and Eris Properties, has Sponsored MK15 million towards the first Malawi Investment Forum.

The Forum, which is being hosted by the Ministry of Trade through the Malawi Consulate General, will be held from 24th – 25th May 2023 at Emperor’s Palace in South Africa.

Speaking on behalf of the Group when announcing the sponsorship, NBS Bank Chief Executive Officer, Kwanele Ngwenya, said this is an opportunity to hold hands to foster economic growth for the country.

“As key players in the financial sector in Malawi ourselves, it is imperative that we support initiatives that create opportunities for growth and investment. We believe that this investment forum is the beginning of more and better investment opportunities for Malawi”, Ngwenya said.

He added that the Group is a key contributor to national development and an advocate for economic growth and that this sponsorship is a further indication of the Group’s commitment towards that drive.

“As the world continues to shift fundamentally, economies and companies need to make that shift too. We all need to take that step towards a more developed and independent Malawi. As NICO Group, we believe that initiatives like this forum will contribute towards positive conversations that will see Malawi achieve its Vision 2063”, he added.

The First Malawi Investment Forum is being held under the theme A Prosperous Malawi through Strategic Investment Partnerships.

The two-day forum will target the Energy, Mining, Agriculture, Tourism, Health and Education, Financial Services and ICT Sectors
